Vote on Election Day; democracy depends on it

As we are focusing on Ukraine’s desperate fight for democracy against the guns and bombs of Putin’s Russia, so must we save some thought for our own fight for democracy right here in America.

Instead of bombs falling from the air, we are facing pernicious laws that undermine our whole system of voting, laws that put obstacles in the way of universal voting and hand the decisions to Republican operatives in many states with the power to disregard our lawfully-cast ballots and choose their own winners.

Once lost, could we ever regain our free and fair election system? One political party has decided that America should no longer be a democracy — what do you think?

Election Day May 17th is your chance to exercise your decision. Let’s call it D Day for democracy. Vote as if your life depends on it, because it does.
